“How much was the bill?”
“You didn’t pay the bill?”
“No… didn’t you?”
“Oh gosh! We need to go back!”
And we both hurried back along the embarkment looking for the Italian Restaurant we had just spent the last 4 hours in.
For us, it wouldn’t matter where we were sat. As long as we were together we could spend hours talking about everything and nothing. From the most serious conversation to the most hilarious, belly ache laughter, conversation.
It was a beautiful day in winter where the sky was blue and the sun was just warm enough.
We had taken a walk along Downing Street marking our respect to the Women of World War II. We stood, elbows entwined, reading the history of what these brave women did for their country. It was both inspiring yet an extremely humbling moment for us.
This was one of those days that really defined the idea of packing everything in. From a walk, to lunch, then shopping…. to meeting the boyfriend for the first time… infact, I am so sure we even managed to decided to try our new outfits and had to shave our legs which we managed to do in the M&S ladies room. And we signed the day off with some significant dance moves and interesting cocktails. One helluva experience for the boyfriend to take in I must say!
There is a deep bond of sisterly love, soul mate friendship, long nights out, long nights in, chocolate and prosecco midnight snacks, little tiffs, little giggles, shopping sprees, dance till you drop …..silly moments, silly laughs.
And no matter what flavour the bond has on the day, or what shear forces or bending moments we come across, there is one thing that is constant; and that is the strength of love and support that a sister has. A candle that traps the abundance of this bond and emanates a strong reminder that there is always that one person who is there looking out for you.
